I didn’t know until recently the wonderful Susannah Conway had a book or two in the world. I’ve joined Bookshop as we’ve quit Amazon so I’ve added to my wish list. 🪄📖✨🤓
Oh that’s great! So we have the UK’s largest or is it second largest second hand book shop in our town and also an indie bookshop too. I’d like to find a way to read on an E reader (kindle) without giving my money to Amazon as that’s how I read most books when the little one sleeps.
That’s very cool! I’m not far from Hay-on-Wye - the self-proclaimed Town of Books 😊 You can buy ebooks through Apple but that’s another big corp you’re giving your money to.
Great shares, Gabrielle! I’m a big fan of Emma and Farrah (I mean who isn’t?! 😂) and Sasha’s writing is always beautiful. And new writers to investigate too, thank you. And yes, definitely resonate with the IG/Substack straddle.
An ever-growing list! My writing pal, Helen Redfern at The Red Fern. Luisa Skinner at Salted. Katy Hessel's The Great Women Artists, Katherine May always. So, so many good writers x
I love so many of these posts that you've shared! And I totally agree that Substack is such a cozy little space on the Internet, it definitely makes me want to just delete Instagram and put my all in over here.
So glad you like them, Hunter! What do you think of the new Notes feature Substack announced? I wonder if it will make other social media kind of redundant...!
I definitely feel hesitant towards it being on here, just because I don't want Substack to turn into another social media platform focused on vanity metrics vs real connection, but I also think it could be an exciting new way to get discovered and find new readership, and new authors! So we'll see. What do you think?
Hmm, I think I agree! I'm not really clear on what it will be like and how it will work, someone said it could be something like twitter? Guess we'll have to wait and see…
Oo thanks for the mention Gabrielle! Some new recs for me here - thanks! Looking forward to reading some more brilliant words here! 📖✨
You’re welcome, thanks for the inspiration! Hope you enjoy exploring some new writers’ work 😊

Oh yes, she’s a seasoned published author! Bookshop is great as is Hive and world of books for secondhand.
I have a bookshop section on my website https://gabrielletreanor.com/bookshop/
Ah I started setting one of these up a little while ago but never quite got there - I’ll do that! And if I need a physical book I’ll use your link. ✨
😘

Oh lush! 📕 📚✨ hmm yes is Apple more ethical in its practises and investments? Probably!?
My ears are burning, in the best way! 💗🥰🐾

It's not a comfortable straddle, is it?! 😂 I love getting recommendations, who are you enjoying reading?
